Robyn & Jon's Tropical Winery Wedding!!---6.23.11 Boise Wedding Photography

Robyn and Jon had a beautiful wedding out at Woodriver Cellars in Eagle. Elegantly designed with bright, tropical colors. Centerpieces made of amazing flowers, "monkey tails", and peacock feathers in little wood boxes. Beautiful work by Soiree. And the bride and groom photograph like a dream- you wouldn't know it by their pictures...but these too definitely have a geeky side. Jon even made sure to wear some batman cufflinks! Awesome. Also- check out the rad sparkler writing done by our very own, Francesca Wilson. We are proud. Enjoy.

In the words of our bride, Robyn: “OH You make me Smile”Jon and I have been together since high school.  We were in the drama department there, he was on stage and I was the accident prone girl behind the scenes haha! It was wonderful marrying my best friend and high school sweetheart!  After five years of being together Jon proposed to me on Valentines day 2010 at the rose garden in our town.  (Of course the roses were dead and there was caution tape all over the gazebo!  Perfectly memorable and still makes me smile) I used to work at a bridal shop called Bridal Couture and I remembered a designer that I loved- Maggie Sottero.  I tried on dress after dress trying to not stereotype the dress by designer, but of course the last dress I tried on after months of trying on dresses, was Maggie Sottero’s Desirae, a beautiful slim A line gown with beaded embellishments and asymmetrical ruching and of course a balloon hem on the train. For the wedding Jon and I wanted something simple, beautiful, bright, and fun! Because of a tight budget we chose Woodriver Cellars- a winery just out of town- for our venue.  They included so much! It had a beautiful waterfall, large open grass spaces, large trees and, of course, a vineyard! The cellar also provided chairs, a tent, tables and set up and tear down of the chairs and tables. To keep things in the budget we had to get creative and we had a bunch of help from our venders to help make our day beautiful! Our colors were a variety of topical colors- blues, greens, oranges, and yellows, with splashes of pink and white.  The scene was all brought together with colorful lanterns and table linens under a large tent on the venue. Beautiful flowers in bamboo boxes were placed on each table (blue hydrangeas, green spider mums, orchids and peacock feathers!) and we even had floating orchids in the ceremony arch. Our ceremony was short and sweet, maybe five minutes at the most.  We had the blessing of having Jon’s father perform the ceremony, we had a hand fasting in the tradition of the catholic and protestant celts. Jon and I both have Celtic roots and the hand fasting was a fun way to incorporate our heritage and love of our family. At the end of the ceremony our parents came up under the arch and pronounced us “Husband and Wife”, it was so empowering to have our entire family up there with their hand on ours. Then it was off skipping down the aisle to “I feel good” with huge smiles on our faces! We had an amazing up beat reception with our first dance “You make me smile” by Unkle Cracker and then lots of smiles and laughter for the rest of the night before our sparkler send off!
