Alright, ready to hear me gush? I absolutely ADORE these people… I first met the Mark & Jayne Walker back in 2010 at a wedding show where I was hired to shoot their daughter, Lindy’s wedding later that fall. After chatting with them for quite awhile and hearing them rave about their daughter, I knew we were going to be such a great fit. Just Mark and Jayne themselves have this incredible chemistry- it is so obvious how crazy they are about each other after all these years; grown children, grandchildren- and they are still the best of friends and exude the type of love that we all hope will last in our own companions.
Later when I had the chance to meet Lindy and her soon-to-be husband, Aaron, I knew they had something special. Being raised by such amazing parents that live an example that even I wish to follow, you could imagine the standard that Lindy must have for her own marriage, and has definitely found in Aaron. After shooting their engagement and wedding, I felt like we were already friends. Lindy and Aaron moved out of town shortly after their wedding and we just sort of kept in touch through facebook. I saw they had a new baby, Colton- and loved seeing all of their updates of their growing family. So, 4 years after our first meeting, you may have guessed how over the moon I was about shooting their family session while everyone was in town over Christmas!
This was a very special shoot, since they are lucky enough to share this time with 4 generations! Lindy’s grandparents Gwen & Jay were staying with Mark & Jayne; Lindy’s brother, Luke & his wife, Elena were also in town for Christmas with their little girl Zoe (who is an absolute HOOT!). The babies were, of course, unpredictable- but I think my most favorite moment of all was seeing how interested they both were in Great Grandma & Grandpa. In the big group shot, they would not stop staring at them. Zoe kept touching grandma Gwen’s sweater and hair- they were absolutely enamored by them.
It was really special to get to be a part of this shoot- and I feel so lucky that I get to have clients like this. The Walkers definitely hold a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to see their families grow!
